In Over Sea, Under Stone the first of the ancient Things of Power was discovered - the grail. The book tells the story of Will, an eleven year-old boy, who discovers that he is the last of the Old Ones, a race that are born to fight for the Light against the Dark in the constant battle between the two forces. It is the second book in The Dark Is Rising Sequence, and goes much more in depth about the various fantasy elements than the first book, Over Sea, Under Stone.
